Day3 & 4 Hakodate to Aomori(Tohoku region)
Hakodate is Hokkaido’s third largest city located at the island’s southern tip.In Hakodate,at first let’s visit Tobetsu Trappist Monastery.It’s located about 18 km west of Hakodate. To the gate, there is a lovely avenue lined with trees.
The cookies and butter made by the monks are very popular souvenirs.From late April to late October, soft serve ice cream with the Trappist Cookie is sold and it is popular.Try them!
Then visit Goryokaku.It’s a star-shaped fort completed almost 150 years ago.It’s famous as the site of the last battle of the civil war for the Japanese Revolution. From the Goryokaku Tower Observatory, we can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire beautiful star-shaped estate and surrounding moat.
